Contrary to modern claims from religious and secular institutions, much of the message of the Bible remains concealed from modern man because of our ignorance of the perspectives and priorities of the people to whom it was written. If we are to be saved from a "death by cliche", we are obliged to gain a proper understanding of the different types of honor/shame cultures in our world and throughout history.
