The "Isaiah Pattern" - Understanding the Words of Jesus

Sometimes the biggest reason that modern people don't understand the words of Jesus in their context in the four gospels (Matthew, Mark, Luke & John), is because we are unfamiliar with the "Old Testament" passages (and their social context) which Jesus spoke through -- directly, or indirectly. Over thousands of years, debates have raged over how to interpret what Jesus actually meant. But as it turns out, the answers were closer than we thought. We simply needed to be able to properly cross-reference patterns that Jesus was citing (and think about the story from which those quotations emerged).
